Adopt a
Park Work Parties Battle Weeds and Win!
by Jeanette Kloos
Gary Brannan and Jeanette and
Todd Kloos pulled weeds (Scotch broom, herb
Robert, English ivy) between Tanner Creek and
Eagle Creek on April 17. The Scotch broom
varied from this years crop, which was easy to
pull to “old growth” plants that needed a saw to
remove.

Todd and Jeanette Kloos were
joined by the Columbia Gorge Running Club and a
local Volkswalk group on May 8. The location
was changed from Mitchell Point to the east end
of the Hood River to Mosier section of the HCRH
State Trail (to avoid poison oak and ticks). We
pulled bachelor buttons (the pretty blue flowers
are invasive) and spotted knapweed.
